Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
Email, SMS and automation on one free plan
Brevo, formerly Sendinblue, prices by messages sent rather than by contacts stored, which is the cheaper shape for anybody with a big list they mail rarely. Email, SMS and WhatsApp sit in one place. The editor and templates are plainer than the newsletter-first tools.
Our note
This is the one to pick when the list is big and quiet. If you mail weekly, the send-based pricing stops being a saving and a newsletter-first tool will serve the writing better.
Only on this side
Send-based email pricing with a real free tier
Mailjet meters emails sent rather than contacts held, and its free tier carries six thousand a month, which is enough to run a small list indefinitely. Marketing campaigns and transactional sending share one account and one sending reputation. Contacts are uncapped on every plan including the free one, so a large dormant list costs nothing. Editing is collaborative, which is unusual here and is the reason teams pick it over a cheaper single-seat tool.
Ratings are the average of reviews readers left. The facts are stated by each tool’s own listing and are not verified by CloutStack. How we make money.

Our note
Compare on emails a month rather than subscribers, because that is the axis this prices on and it is the reverse of most of the category. The free tier is genuinely permanent, which makes it a better first choice than a trial-only tool if you are not yet sure the newsletter will stick.
