Running the business
Blender is a free, unrestricted 3D suite under the GPL, with no cap on commercial use no matter how large the company. Vectary is a browser-based 3D and AR tool for product visuals, viewable in a room through a phone camera with no app, free for 5 projects and then $15 a month billed annually for Pro AI, a plan carrying a $1 million annual revenue cap written into its licence. Blender has no such ceiling at any size. Vectary gets a product on a phone screen in an afternoon; Blender never asks what your company earned this year.

3D, motion and compositing, free forever
Blender models, animates, simulates, renders, composites and cuts video, and the Blender Foundation gives all of it away under the GPL with no tier above it. For motion graphics it is the free answer to a monthly subscription, and the ceiling is the artist rather than the licence. The learning curve is what it costs instead, and that is a real price.
Our note
The honest comparison is not against a cheaper subscription but against time: Blender costs nothing and asks for weeks. If motion graphics is a recurring part of the work that trade is worth making, and if it comes up twice a year it is not.
Only on this side
3D and AR design that runs in a browser
Vectary puts 3D modelling in a browser tab, which is the difference between trying it and not. Models can be shared as a link, embedded in a page or placed in a room through a phone camera with no app in the way. Designers use it for product shots and interactive scenes that would otherwise mean learning heavier software. Anybody doing character work or simulation is in the wrong place.
Choose Blender for anything beyond product visuals: character work, simulation, film-quality rendering, or a company past the size where a licence cap matters, since the GPL applies to commercial use at any revenue with no exception. The cost is entirely the time spent learning it, which is real.
Choose Vectary for fast, browser-based 3D product shots and AR previews, with a free tier of 5 projects and a 14-day trial of paid features needing no card. Pro AI is $15 a month billed annually, $180 a year, but check the $1 million annual revenue cap in its licence before standardising a larger business on it; for a freelancer or small brand the cap is irrelevant. It will not do character animation, simulation or film work, which still means Blender.
Ratings are the average of reviews readers left. The facts are stated by each tool’s own listing and are not verified by CloutStack. How we make money.

Shaded rows are where the two answers disagree and both listings have answered. A row where one side has not stated a fact is left plain, because silence is not a difference.
Our note
Check the revenue cap before standardising on the Pro plan, because it is the kind of term that only becomes a problem after the work is already built here. For a freelancer or a small brand it is irrelevant, and the free tier is genuinely enough to decide whether the browser editor suits you.
